Eagle Ease

Zoey doesn’t worry when she gets twisted up about something. Birds flitting past her window; dogs barking as she walks outside; Dakota chasing her around the yard.

Zoey—Queen of Eagle Ease

She takes it all in as she sits in her version of Eagle pose. Nothing bothers her. She lets us know that no matter what happens in our lives, we always have our breath and can create ease.

Eagle is a standing pose during equanimity: maintaining composure in a difficult situation.

Eagle Pose:

Stand in True North with feet grounded, head tall toward the ceiling, hands at your side. Breathing in, lift your arms up then wrap your right arm under your left pressing in. A good shoulder hug works as well. Bend knees and wrap right leg up and over left. Still standing tall, squeeze in toward your center and breathe.

Lift up and do the other side. Left arm under right and left leg over right.

Ease alongside tension. Creating hope with breath. Balance within the discord.

Zoey makes it look simple.

Even when life is off balance, filled with tension, sadness, and fear, we can find/create ease. When we’re twisted up over an emotional situation, we can stand in our truth and bring balance where needed.

Being with what is. Pulling into our center despite what attempts to throw us off is my interpretation of Eagle Ease.

Finding joy in the simplicity of being where I am right in this moment. That’s Zoey. She’s where she is right now and nothing else matters. She’s the Queen of Eagle Ease!

What is twisting you up?

What calms you?

What centers you?

Where do you find ease?
